afe owner John has been involved with cars and bikes      from an early age. His father owned a large motorcycle dealership in Durban South Africa and also raced as a sidecar jockey in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. John raced road bikes before completing national service as a platoon Sergent in mounted infantry on Honda XR 500’s in the early 1980’s in South West Africa for a unit called SWA Spes. An account of that can be found at the following link, detailed by one of Johns friends who was in the army at the same time. http://trailriderreports.blogspot.com.au/2009/01/year-long-all- expenses-paid-hooligan.html John moved to Australia with his wife Kim and 3 children to the Ocean View area bringing a couple of vintage cars and around 25 vintage motorcycles along with all the memorabilia collected over the years. Ever since being in the area they identified there was a need for a Pitstop, where the riders and day trippers to the area could stop for a bite to eat and some refreshments. (The magnificent view was a bonus) For years they were looking for a site, eventually this one was acquired and the cafe was set up.
